Team
leader Dr.P.G.Visvanathan is among the surgeons who have performed
the world’s largest series of operations for deafness
caused by ostosclerosis. He introduced a technique known as
small-fenestra stapedotomy for the first time in India. Another
major break-through in ear surgery is the standardised results
of gold and titanium prosthesis treatment to replace the hearing
bones, even in failed cases. Minimally invasive cochlear implant
surgery was also brought to India by him. Dr.P.G.Visvanathan
is invited all over India and abroad to demonstrate live surgery
and deliver guest lectures by institutions. He is also the
President and founder member of the Indian Society of Otology.
