Enlarged Vestibular Aqueduct
The small bony-canal that goes to the brain from the endolymphatic space in the inner ear is termed as the vestibular aqueduct. In this condition, the individual will have hearing loss and recurrent vertigo. The hearing loss may be a trifle in the beginning, but will get increased as days pass by. The patient will experience several attacks of vertigo in a day.
Causes of Enlarged Vestibular Aqueduct:
This can be an inherited ear disease; if anyone of your ancestral members had this problem, you are likely to get it inherited. Yet another major cause can be the infections that are par for the course of various viral infections.
Symptoms of Enlarged Vestibular Aqueduct:
The symptoms include irregular and progressive sensorineural hearing loss, periodically occurring vertigo, balancing problems and ringing tone in the ears.
