Vertigo

Vertigo can be both problematical and non-problematical; however, effective treatments are possible. The meaning of ‘vertigo’ is ‘dizziness’ or ‘giddiness’, and from the name itself one can derive the nature of the disease. Generally, two kinds of vertigo are identified, according to the place where the damages occurred; peripheral vertigo and central vertigo. In this condition, the patient will feel that his or her body is moving, even though they are at rest. The social life of the individual will get restrained to a certain extent when this disease occurs, because of movement restriction.
Causes of Vertigo:
It is the function of the internal ear to maintain the body balance during the processes of standing or walking. The infection in the inner ear would interfere in the balance and hence vertigo occurs. The common causes are infections, trauma, multiple sclerosis, cuts, or the scratches that occur in the vestibulocochlear or in the central vestibular nerves. This can happen also due to aging. Effective treatments are possible.
Symptoms of Vertigo:
The symptoms include a typical feeling of unbalanced physical condition; the patient will experience spinning, or swaying, or being pulled in one direction. The symptoms of vertigo can have a lasting nature, or in some cases, the indications occur only occasionally. Persistent vertigo symptoms may last for one or two days, as the cause for the same is degeneration of cells that come to pass due to the old age. periodic vertigo, as the name suggests, comes every now and then, lasts for a short time, and may occur again immediately, or in a few minutes later.
The possible indications of vertigo include vague vision, body fatigue, infection, fever, and headache. If the symptoms are persistent consult the best ENT specialist and they would recommend the effective treatment accordingly.
