The earliest indications of hearing loss that an individual will be able to notice, is various instances of inattentiveness, which may happen in the day-to-day life of the individual.

You can notice the trace of hearing loss, when you feel uneasy while having conversations with others or in a meeting hall. You will also feel discomfort in hearing TV shows. Less clarity in recognizing the sounds or the various pitches will also be the initial problem.

Devoid of hearing capacity, life becomes difficult. Hearing loss is a medical condition, which will make the individual concerned - withdrawn from social participation.   • Because of the inability to socialize freely, the sufferer may shy away from social gatherings.

Sensorineural Hearing Loss (SNHL): This is the medical condition where there is a permanent hearing loss, and this can be severe, moderate, or mild. The reason for this medical condition is the damages that occur in the inner part of the ear (it can be in the cochlea or in the cranial nerve (vestibulocochlear), or in the neural section.

Common symptoms of Sensorineural Hearing Loss

  • Hearing loss. This can be partial or full.
  • In some cases, the patients will see the lip movement of the opposite speaker, but will not hear the sounds properly.
  • In other cases, even if the patients hear some sounds, those will not be anything resembling to the words the speaker has uttered.

Conductive Hearing loss: The patient hears sounds in a dull and hushed manner in this condition. The causes for the problem can be the inherent imperfection or the injuries that occurred in the outer or middle ear. Damages can occur in many parts like the ear-canal, ear-drum, and the middle ear (near the osseous chain).

Common Symptoms of Conductive Hearing Loss

  • The main symptom is the hearing loss.
  • There is a possibility of middle ear bone growth, leading to pain.

Mixed Hearing Loss: This medical condition is due to the damages in the outer, middle, or in the inner ear. The distinguishing features can be the hearing of loud voices and difficulty in comprehending the heard sound. The main symptoms can be a combination of the indications that are par for the course of the sensorineural and conductive hearing losses.
